Service Disabled Status
Q1. Is the firm owned 51% or more by a Service Disabled Veteran (SDV) who has a service-connected disability that has been determined by the Department of Veterans Affairs or Department of Defense?
Q1. Does the Service-Disabled Veteran Owner manage the daily operations of the business seeking the certification or in the case of a severely handicapped service-disabled veteran their spouse or primary caregiver?
Q2. Does the service-disabled veteran hold the highest title (or position) in the firm?
Q3. Does the disabled veteran hold all needed licenses required to run the business?
Q4. Does the disabled veteran have a substantial technical and business background in the firm’s industry?
Q1. Does the firm have an Operating Agreement/Bylaws that are clean of any control issues by any minority members/shareholders? It is critical that the legal documents are in good order and have no voting, quorum, or control issues from minority owners. (If you are a one-owner company, you have no issues with this.)
Q2. Does the business owner also own any other companies?
Q3. Does the company have its own office space? Therefore, not sharing any office space, equipment, staff, phone number/system, with any other company?
Q4. Is the company free from debt encumbrance from anyone but a bank or financial institution?
Small Business Status
Q1. Is the business that is applying classified as a small business based upon the SBA’s size standards by NAICS Code?
